Leadership

Wellspring at the Cross– embraces the headship of Jesus Christ, seeking His Lordship through the Word and Spirit of God, and through the gifts of the Spirit in the church body. The ministry seeks the will of God through the discipleship of the cross, submitting itself, becoming informed by the Spirit and Word of that which is Christ’s design and desire for His church.

Our leadership consists of those people that God raises up in the offices of the Apostle, the Prophet, the Evangelist, the Pastor and Teacher.  Together, they work in tandem, submitted to each other in relationship, with Christ as their head. As overseers, they serve God’s people in the discipleship of the cross; they seek to equip them for works of service; to build them up until they reach the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God, becoming mature; to attain the fullness of Christ  (Ephesians 4:11-13).

Apostle Douglas Pirkey

Douglas Pirkey has an undergraduate degree in Christian Studies from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN, with graduate studies in Clinical Pastoral Education and Counselor Education. Douglas is called and anointed to preach the saving and transforming power of Jesus Christ and the Cross which he began doing weekly in 2012 at Wellspring at the Cross which he assisted in planting that same year. His ministry experience includes that of Program Director of the Edgecombe County homeless shelter; substance abuse counselor; hospital chaplain; and itinerant preacher in the U.S. and in Rwanda, Africa. He is currently the Apostle in the five fold  leadership ministry and is overseeing the foundational call of Christ’s headship in the church and does most of the weekly preaching.  Douglas lives with his wife, Joie, and their three children in Little Chute, WI.

Prophet Joie Pirkey

Founder and Executive Director of Shouts of Joy Ministries, Joie Pirkey has degrees in Pastoral Studies and Behavioral Studies from North Central University and has been in ministry for more than 30 years. After spending a year living with her family in Kigali, Rwanda ministering to the orphans of the Tutsi Genocide the Pirkey’s returned to Wisconsin and planted Wellspring at the Cross, in Combined Locks.  Joie is currently the Prophet in the five fold ministry leadership and leads the Prayer Meeting that meets every Wednesday evening.  She, with her husband Douglas and three children, lives in Wisconsin.

Evangelist Dan Kunde

Dan Kunde brings over fourteen years of pastoral experience including youth pastoring, leading worship and pastoral ministry to Wellspring at the Cross. He is the Evangelist in the five~fold leadership ministry and works with outreach and integrating new believers into the Body .  He has a degree in Anthropology/Sociology and a minor in Religion from Ripon Collage.  Dan also is the Living Unit Administrator at Rawhide Boys Ranch, New London.  He and his wife Kristine, along with their three children live in Menasha, WI.

Teacher Ron Pagel

Ron Pagel brings over twenty years of pastoral ministry experience including leading ministry teams, discipleship groups, spiritual mentorship, mission teams, retreat leader, author and conference speaker and a healing-evangelism ministry to Wellspring at the Cross.  He is the teacher in the five-fold leadership ministry at Wellspring and works with leading the teaching and discipleship through education ministries. He has a degree in Bio-Chemical Engineering from Illinois State University, working towards an MBA in Agri-business, a masters certificate in Biblical Counseling from SWBTS, and work towards his MDiv from Trinity School for Evangelism in Ambridge PA.  He is also a Rapid Response Chaplin for BGEA. His desire is to instill in each person an insatiable hunger for more of the Lord; to know His heart and feel His call in our lives.  Ron and his wife Beth along with their three children live in Appleton WI.
